Molto Bene turns 10!!!!!!
I have told the same joke 682 times. It still gets a laugh. I am still surprised. Ten years of Molto Bene, which means I’m a decade older and so’s the joke. While both the joke and I keep getting a great reception, we’ll keep making an appearance.
Here’s a few more numbers.
We’ve written 46 multi-workshop programmes, designed 16 end-to-end leadership development and team effectiveness curriculums, delivered existing programmes for 30+ clients, and project managed another 23. We’ve built literally thousands of slides. I’ve been called a boomer for saying PowerPoints, learnt to say slide decks, and then been advised that "decks" marks you as a boomer in waiting. Now it is just “the deck”, and PowerPoint is well on its way to joining the blackberry and the iPod. We’ve taught the art of facilitation to over 100 leaders, and coached 26 facilitators on the journey from capable to master facilitator level.
I still read every evaluation form personally. I delight in the positives, and labour at length over the rare "good, but", because that is where the learning is.
We have worked with 846 teams across 36 industries and seen so many move from making it through the day to being poster children for great organisational outcomes.
In ten years, not one person has ever identified themselves as the difficult stakeholder. We have run 356 coaching sessions. We’ve stood in front of 312 graduates who walked in either wildly overconfident or painfully shy, and walked out knowing their worth, their value and their potential.
I have personally eaten a truly unreasonable amount of workshop catering. I can identify a venue by its scone, and those who know me are across the fact that I am NEVER too full for a lamington.
I have never once walked into a room where all the whiteboard markers worked, which is why our team never hits a conference room without their own whiteboard ammunition. We have had more conversations about leadership and team dynamics than I have had mystery meat wet dishes in Qantas Clubs around the world.
On more occasions than we can count, a workshop has started at 8am with a room of people who didn’t want to be there and finished at 4pm with a group that still had so much to share.
The Molto Bene team are the reason those numbers exist. They are the ones clients ask for by name, and they are addicted to making it easier to lead people, and more rewarding to work in a team.
Some wonderful clients took a chance on us in 2016 and are still with us in 2026. We don’t take that lightly. Those partnerships push us to keep raising the bar, and our newer clients get the benefit of all we’ve learnt along the way.
I am still vain enough to love being at the top of the room. I delight in the exhale born of relief that they are not the only one who sometimes finds leadership a struggle, the ah-ha where confusion is replaced by clarity, and when a team lands on a way forward where everyone wins. Ten years in, those moments are still the most satisfying rewards of my career.
Leading people is still a really hard thing to get right. So is being a valuable member of a team. Helping people achieve this is what we live for.
